After being kicked about through the NHS with no diagnosis and facing a long wait to even see a consultant as an 'urgent' case, I saw Mr De' Liguori Carino on recommendation. I'm so glad I did! He diagnosed my likely problem immediately, confirmed with scans etc and first consultation to operation was only 3 weeks with much of that only because there was only 1 day a week at the Alexandra that these consultations were held and I particularly didn't want to go into Manchester. I felt fully informed with all the possibilities explained to me of what would happen if various scenarios played out during the operation. I saw Mr Carino frequently through my hospital stay and felt I knew at all points what was happening and why. I could ask any questions I had and they were answered. Mr Carino has a super manner and is quite happy to chat for a few minutes as a human as well as be the professional consultant. Throughout, I felt the level of explanation and information was fantastic and I felt treated like an intelligent adult. 1 point really stood out for me in my dealings with Mr Carino and it sums up my feeling throughout that I was being treated as a person and of value; on my first visit I realised when I'd left him that I had a question I hadn't asked. A nurse went to ask him but moments later, he invited me back in to the consultation room to talk to me properly- fantastic! Thank you so much.

I needed surgery to correct an umbilical hernia and after careful consideration chose Mr Nicola De' Liguori Carino. I am so glad I did. From the initial consultation through pre- and post-surgery he was professional whilst being relaxed and friendly. He was very communicative, explaining all aspects of my surgery, before and afterwards, so I felt confident when the time came for my surgery. The results of my surgery are excellent, with a small scar which healed very quickly. I can thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend Mr Carino. Thank you for, in the circumstances, a very pleasant experience.

I felt very at ease from start to finish, with the operation explained clearly with the use of diagrams. I got the operation done within a couple of weeks of my initial consultation and my wounds have healed very well with minimal and neat scarring. Would definitely recommend Nicola. It was also reassuring to have him (the person that actually performed the operation) call my husband afterwards rather than someone else relaying the info.

My treatment with Dr Carino was pragmatic, fast and problem free. I saw him based on a recommendation, he quickly identified my particular problem and the best solution for repair. Just three weeks later I had the operation and enjoyed a fast recovery afterwards. I'm grateful I can now look to return to my normal life and no longer need to avoid certain activities that would previously trigger a great deal of pain.
